03 / WORKED EXAMPLE · HYPOTHETICAL, STUDY ONLY
A close is observable.
“Looks strong” is not.
MarketEUR/USD - hypothetical chart, study only
Timeframe15-minute candles; observe 09:00-10:00 UTC
ContextMark the 08:00-09:00 UTC high and low before observing the next hour.
Entry ruleStudy a long candidate only after a 15-minute candle closes above the marked high. Record the close; do not place a live order.
InvalidationFor this study, a later 15-minute close back inside the marked range invalidates the candidate.
ManagementEnd observation at 10:00 UTC or at invalidation, whichever comes first. Record what happened without optimizing the rule.
When I will not tradeNo close above the high, missing candles, or observation outside the window: record no trade. Risk and execution rules are incomplete, so this is not a tradable system.
04 / SEVEN-DAY RESET
Observe one rule, not every weakness.
Compare your rule with the example and counterexample.
Observe one session. Live, demo, study and no trade are different records.
Repeat the observation. Do not force an entry.
Review what was documented. Separate missing evidence from a broken rule.
Rewrite one ambiguous sentence. Keep the previous version.
Compare the two versions and choose what to observe next.
05 / FIRST REVIEW
What does your evidence let you say?
Record date, market and mode (live / demo / study / no trade). Quote the rule. Mark followed / not followed / not assessable. Describe the evidence, then choose one wording change. A missing result is not zero R.
